Many different physical and health problems and illnesses can develop later in life, as well as at any age. A well-balanced diet is crucial for a healthy lifestyle and this is particularly true during childhood and adolescence. Some extreme diets can deprive the adolescent body of the necessary nutrients required for growth with some indications that the harmful effects of extreme dieting during adolescence can have a detrimental effect throughout adult life. Such children may well consistently overeat in later life leading to the many illnesses associated with excess fat and ultimately obesity. This is a high price to pay for a lack of exercise as a child, but one which is too prevalent in society today. Beware promises of six pack abs from scammy products though. “
